Why CrossFit Is The Best Workout: Get Healthy, Live Your Life

It's not often that people can change their lifestyle to make themselves happier. Fitness, like any other method of self-care, is an investment with the potential for high returns. It's hard to know where to start, though. There are so many options - aerobic classes, yoga, weight training. It can be challenging to figure out which one is the best for you. That's why CrossFit is so great! Not only will it help you get healthy and live your life, but it'll also help you avoid injury too! Here are some of the reasons why CrossFit is the best workout for you!

What is CrossFit?

"CrossFit stands for functional movement standards. It focuses on being able to perform movements that are functional and efficient, it allows you to develop your own physical fitness, and to be successful at a variety of life situations," says CrossFit instructor Brian Sandor. "A CrossFit workout consists of three or more movements that include a gymnastic move, gymnastic hop, or accessory movement. For example, CrossFit is a good workout for women if you are trying to get stronger as you age. Some CrossFit workouts include Pull-ups, Push-Ups, Bicep Curls, Deadlifts, Lunges, and Squats."

Why CrossFit is the best workout for you

Why is CrossFit so great? I first started CrossFit as a way to stay fit during a difficult time. I'd been bullied all throughout high school, and it wasn't until the end of my senior year when I decided to leave. At that point, I was in a lot of pain. I was waking up feeling stiff and sore. My shoulders were tight, my hips hurt, and I'd had to hold in a lot of emotions. The only solution seemed to be getting healthy, so I began by tracking my calories on MyFitnessPal. It didn't take long before I was feeling better!

After graduation, I started freelancing and needed to be healthy in order to continue working. I got myself into physical therapy to relieve the pain I had in my back from lifting light weights, and I learned to do more by doing less. I learned to do squats, lunges, and pull-ups.

Why CrossFit will help you live your life

1. It'll make you feel like a kid again.

If you're over the age of 35, you've probably experienced a few bouts of "senioritis" during your career. Maybe it's time to go out and enjoy yourself, just like you did as a kid! You're going to be sore and tired in the beginning, but when you get into it, you'll find yourself hooked and loving every minute of it. Take a few breaks, grab a glass of water and/or a snack, and try to keep your heart rate up while you take it easy on the deadlifts. Enjoy!

2. It's all about coordination.

CrossFit isn't just about strength. It's about coordination, coordination, coordination. The exercises require you to really master your movements and your body. I say that because if you can't figure out how to do something, it's probably not going to get done.

Why CrossFit will help you get healthy

1. It builds strength.

It's not enough for people to exercise for the health benefits alone. Strong muscles build muscle, which builds up more lean muscle. This leads to more energy and can even reduce the risk of developing a serious illness.

2. You can see the effects immediately.

While many people only notice improvements, when their muscles are pumping up in the weight room, getting into CrossFit will help you feel those benefits right away. This means you can work hard without feeling sore and have a lasting effect on your body and mind.

3. Your stress levels will be reduced.

A 2016 study found that just two weeks of intense resistance training reduced cortisol, the stress hormone.

How CrossFit will help you avoid injury

There's no denying the success of CrossFit. Although it's fairly unknown in the United States, it has become very popular in Europe. CrossFit involves a combination of gymnastics, running, weight lifting, and muscle endurance, and it's become incredibly popular in a very short period of time. CrossFit is very intense and can be dangerous if you're not prepared. CrossFit can cause injury if you don't warm up properly and engage in the right form. Most CrossFit classes follow three days per week. CrossFit combines short and intense sets of exercises with compound movements, which means they can be executed in one or two sets.

Never settle for the status quo. Health is important, but it shouldn't be the only thing you focus on. There is so much more to life! Do what makes you happy and surround yourself with the best people you can find. When you do, you'll finally feel fulfilled!
